Does the fragrance company Coty test on animals, and would they lie about it?

I have read all these sites saying they do test on animals, but I just called them and they said they never did and do not now.
I agree with you Lioness, and why I am asking is because the answers I got were kind of fishy. I asked the representative for something more substantial than just her word. The response I got was: “Well, we don’t post that kind of information anyway.” But, she did offer to take down my information so I can receive an ingredient list for the perfume I am interested in from their corporate headquarters.
As for Unilever, they produce many different items, some of which I am sure have to legally be tested on animals, which is a different story.

Well, Coty bought Del Laboratories in 2007 (the makers of the Sally Hansen products) and as far as the data suggests, they do still test personal care producs on animals. Big companies also make drugs that are *required* to be tested on animals, but here’s a list of who tests personal care products (non-required items) on animals.
